FAQs

1. What can I expect in my first Reiki session?

During a Reiki session, you can anticipate a tranquil and nurturing atmosphere. The practitioner will typically guide you to a peaceful space where you will either lie down on a treatment table fully clothed. The session usually begins with a brief discussion to address any concerns you may have.

The practitioner will gently place their hands lightly on or slightly above your body in specific positions, moving systematically from one area to another. The intention is to channel healing energy and promote balance within your energetic system. You may experience sensations of warmth, tingling, or a gentle flow of energy during the session.

Throughout the session, it is common to enter a deep state of relaxation or even fall asleep. Some people also report emotions arising or a release of tension or stress during or after the session. Everyone's experience is unique, and the effects of Reiki can vary from person to person.

After the session, the practitioner may provide some guidance or insights based on their observations or any messages they received during the session. It is advisable to drink plenty of water after the session to support the body's natural healing process.

It is essential to note that Reiki is considered a complementary therapy and should not substitute professional medical or mental health treatment.
During an Emotion Code session, you can expect a safe and supportive space to explore and release trapped emotions that might be impacting your well-being. The practitioner will typically begin by discussing your concerns, goals, and any specific emotional or physical symptoms you are experiencing.

The session may involve the use of muscle testing (also known as applied kinesiology) to identify specific trapped emotions within your energy field. This involves the practitioner asking questions and using muscle testing by proxy to gauge your body's response.

Once identified, the practitioner will use various techniques such as magnetic therapy or intention to release and clear the trapped emotions. This can be done remotely as well, without the need for in-person contact.

During the session, you may experience a range of sensations or emotions as the trapped energy is released. These may include a sense of release, lightness, or even a temporary intensification of emotions. Each person's experience is unique, and it is important to communicate openly with the practitioner about any sensations or emotions that arise.

After each session, it is typically advised to drink plenty of water, engage in self-care activities, and allow yourself time to integrate the energetic shifts that have occurred.

For both Reiki and Emotion Code, it is common to start with more frequent sessions initially, especially if you have specific challenges or areas you want to address. This can help to establish a foundation of healing and balance. As you progress and experience positive shifts, you may choose to space out the sessions.

The frequency of Reiki or Emotion Code sessions can vary depending on individual needs and preferences. There is no "one-size-fits-all" answer, as it can depend on various factors such as the nature of your concerns, your level of stress, and your response to the sessions.

3. How often should I have a Reiki session? What about Emotion Code?

Some individuals find benefit in receiving sessions on a weekly or monthly basis to maintain their overall well-being, promote relaxation, and support ongoing emotional release. Others may opt for sessions on an as-needed basis, scheduling them when specific issues or challenges arise.

Ultimately, it is recommended to listen to your intuition and work with your practitioner to determine the optimal frequency for your sessions. They can provide guidance based on their assessment of your needs and progress, as well as any specific goals you may have.

Remember that self-care practices, such as meditation, journaling, and engaging in activities that nurture your well-being, can also complement and support the benefits of Reiki or Emotion Code sessions between appointments.

4. How long should I go in between wax appointments?

It depends on the area waxed and on each individual person but a good rule of thumb is 5-6 weeks of regrowth (especially for Brazillian wax clients) with no shaving in between.

5. What is your cancellation policy?

If appointments are canceled with less than 24 hours notice a fee of 50% of the service booked will be charged; less than 12 hours 100 % percent of the service fee will be charged to the credit card on file. Please see the Cancellation Policy page for detailed information.

6. Do you offer virtual healing sessions?

Yes! Shannon can “tap” into you remotely to perform an Emotion Code or Reiki session. However, she does recommend that the first session is in person.
